A priest of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church who was mobilized into the army has died in the war.

Archpriest Andrei Korinchuk, a cleric of the Vladimir-Volynsk Diocese, is being buried today in Kovel, the diocese reports.

Clergy of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church aren’t exempt from mobilization, which is part of the state’s campaign against the Ukrainians of the UOC.

Archpriest Andrei was the rector of the parishes in the villages of Darov and Solotvin in the Goloby Deanery. He dedicated his life to serving God and the holy Orthodox Church, caring for the faithful spiritually, preaching the Word of God, and praying for the flock entrusted to him.

In the diocesan statement, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Vladimir-Volynsk, together with the clergy and faithful of the diocese, expresses sincere condolences to Fr. Andrei’s family, loved ones, and spiritual children, and to everyone who knew and honored the departed pastor.

His body was brought to the cathedral yesterday at 7 PM. After a panikhida, the clergy read the Holy Gospel over his coffin until 10 PM.

The Divine Liturgy for the repose of the departed was served this morning, followed by his funeral, served by a synaxis of priests.
