Plans signed in Bethlehem to repair the roof of the Basilica of the Nativity of Christ

On September 3 in Bethlehem, an agreement was signed regarding the restoration of wooden roof of the Basilica of the Nativity of Christ, the custodian in the Holy Land of which is the Franciscan Pierbattista Pizzaballa.

Representatives of all six confessions that are represented in the Basilica of the Nativity of Christ have agreed to restore the worsening roof.

The Palestinian National Authority has made its first installment in the repair fund of one million dollars. 150 days will be needed to restore the roof of the Basilica; however, the start date of the work is as yet unknown.
