Muscovites will be offered 850 tons cakes and 100 million eggs to celebrate Easter

Moscow bakery factories will produce 850 tons of cakes (kulich) and the city will significantly increase supplies of chicken eggs for Pascha (Easter) holiday which is celebrated on April 24 this year, Mikhail Orlov, head of the Trade and Service Department of the Moscow Government, said.

The retail price of 300 to 400-gram kulich cakes will be 42 to 65 rubles ($1.50 to $2.30), and 1000-gram cakes will cost 75 to 140 rubles ($1.67 to $5.00), Mikhail Orlov said at a press conference on Friday.

Currently, the Moscow government is negotiating the supply of at least 100 million eggs for the holiday.
