Georgian Patriarch Illia II expressed his position regarding the uncanonical actions of former bishop Artemije

Belgrade, July 6, 2011

The official site of the Serbian Orthodox Church has published a letter from Patriarch Illia II of Georgia to Patriarch Irinej of Serbia regarding the schismatic activities of former bishop, Artemije (Radosavlevich) and a group of his followers.

The Georgian Patriarch writes,

"Your Holiness,

We would like to inform you that we have received your letter concerning the uncanonical activity of Artemije, the former bishop of Rasko-Prizren, which greatly grieves us. In consideration of all the facts, we assure you that our Church will not have any relationship with the above-named, or with any of his followers."

At the present time, the defrocked monk Artemije and his followers are actively continuing "catacomb" activities on the territory of Serbia. They have founded the so-called "Diocese of Rasko-Prizren in exile," which, according to them, is the only place to be saved, while all the rest of the Serbian Church, beginning with its leadership, has fallen into the heresy of "ecumenism and globalism."
