Holy Dormition-Svyatogorsk Lavra in Donetsk received thirty-three tons of humanitarian assistance on March 27. This is the eleventh such shipment, according to the lavra’s press service. The monastery has been serving refugees from Ukrainian war zones and internally displaced person for several years now.
“This time we were able to collect up to thirty-three tons of cargo,” said George Tolchev, one of the organizers of the delivery of the humanitarian assistance.
Five priests from the Vinnytsia Diocese accompanied the truck full of humanitarian cargo, on pilgrimage to the famous monastery. The organizers said that the cargo, consisting of vegetables, grain, apples, canned goods, cereals, sugar, flour, vegetable oil, lard, and other products, was collected over the course of a month.
The collected goods will help residents of the Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Rivne regions.
