“In the coming days, representatives of the crisis categories of socially vulnerable citizens will receive assistance in the form of food and hygiene kits: low-income families, large families, single elderly residents, disabled people, orphans, and other categories of needy residents,” explained project coordinator Alexei Kovalchuk.

In all, the cargo cost 2,424,673 Ukrainian hryvnia ($88,563), weighing 43 tons, divided into 5,858 food and hygiene kits.

According to the clergy of the Lugansk and Donetsk Dioceses, there are many civilians who have suffered from the ongoing military action and are in need of help. They also note that the beneficiaries are always incredibly grateful for the help they receive from the Church.

The Ukrainian Church has been sending aid to civilians in eastern Ukraine for almost 5 years.
