“Metropolitan” Epiphany, head of the schismatic OCU created by, and currently recognized only by Constantinople, visited the US Embassy in Kiev and discussed issues plaguing his schismatic sect.
According to the Union of Orthodox Journalists, Epiphany Dumenko met with the US Chargé d'affaires in Ukraine, William Taylor.
In particular, Ukrainian sources report that: “During a friendly conversation, issues of religious life in Ukraine, the process of the formation of the Local Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its recognition”, as well as “related challenges” were discussed.
It is also reported that Evstraty Zorya, the former speaker of the OCU’s “Honorary Patriarch” Philaret, who is now in schism with them, and employees of the US Embassy, also took part in the meeting.
In a time when the word “collusion” is constantly thrown around in the media concerning Russia, often without a shred of evidence, it is of paramount importance to take note that high ranking OCU Metropolitan Makary Maletich openly admitted that Pat. Bartholomew granted the OCU their tomos because he had “U.S. Support”. Given the political history of the Phanar, and their current actions, this is actually no surprise.
Earlier, we broke the major story from an examination of even pro-ecumenical patriarchate sources, that President Truman allegedly viewed the Ecumenical Patriarchate as “vital to American Foreign Policy”. Among other things, in a paper written by Dr. Alexandros K. Kyrou, it was revealed that:
Recently declassified State Department documents reveal a fascinating story, an alternative narrative, of American interest in, and engagement with, the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople during perhaps the most critical period in US foreign policy history… the election of Athenagoras as Ecumenical Patriarch not only had the support of Truman, but according to new evidence, the “possible involvement of the Truman administration”…

In addition, we also discussed how Geoffrey Pyatt, US Ambassador to Ukraine during the Maidan coup, and current ambassador to Greece, had a meeting with Metropolitan Hierotheos of Nafpaktos of the Ecumenical Patriarchate at Vatopedi, where they discussed, among other things, “U.S. support for the Ecumenical Patriarchate”.
One can’t help but notice a very strange pattern of certain individuals from certain churches meeting with certain diplomats from certain embassies.
Earlier, Ukraine deported to America His Grace, Bishop Gideon (Kharon), a Ukrainian hierarch and Abbot of the endangered Tithes Monastery, threatened with demolition. His Grace was returning from a trip to the US, where he also holds citizenship, and where he was informing the US Congress about the persecution against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Deporting a cleric born in Ukraine, seemingly for exposing human rights abuse and suppression of religious freedom, in fact proves everything His Grace warned the US Congress about was true.
It seems however the political powers have already chosen which side they support, but none of that matters.
All that matters is which side God supports.
