Former Patriarch of Jerusalem released from hospital

Photo: staticflickr.com Photo: staticflickr.com The former patriarch of Jerusalem, Irenaios (Skopelitis), who was hospitalized in Jerusalem last week after suffering a pulmonary edema and cardiac arrhythmia, has been discharged from the hospital, reports Romfea.

He returned home to his apartment in the Patriarchate on Tuesday and is resting.

His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem and His Eminence Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantina visited the former patriarch while he was still in the hospital.

Pat. Irenaios was removed from office in 2005 and has lived in the Patriarchate since February 2008. Pat. Theophilos also visited him in the hospital following a hernia operation in November 2015.
