Altai Youths Honor "Family, Love, and Faithfulness"

Barnaul, June 30, 2010

The Altai regional youth organization, "Word," will conduct a community action according to their tradition of honoring "family, love, and faithfulness" on July 7 and 8, reports the Barnaul Diocesan website. July 8 is the day the Church commemorates the patron saints of marriage, Peter and Febronia of Murom.

On those days on Leninsky Prospect in the city of Barnaul (from the St. Nicholas Church to October Square and the river station), representatives of the youth organization will present engaged couples with commemorative gifts (icons of Sts. Peter and Febronia, Orthodox books on the family, and bookmarks), and will talk about the feast day.

Within the framework of this community action, a film on Sts. Peter and Febronia of Murom will be shown in the library of the church of St. Dimitry of Rostov on Spartak Street, after which those who wish can remain to talk with a priest about family life.
