The Russian Federation’s president Vladimir Putin has signed a law which introduces a penalty up to five years of imprisonment for rehabilitation of Nazism, denial of the facts recognized by the judgment of the Nuremberg trial, and spreading false information about USSR activities during the World War II.
"The Federal law makes it criminal offences to deny facts recognized by the international military tribunal—to judge and punish the major war criminals of the European Axis countries, to approve the crimes which the tribunal judged, and to deliberately spread false information about the USSR activities during World War II," the Kremlin press service reported.
Moreover, desecration of public holidays related to the military glory and commemorative dates of Russia will be punished with a fine, reports RIA-Novosti.
