Priests to visit victims of the Moscow metro accident in hospitals

Orthodox Priests spent July 15 rendering spiritual and psychological aid to all those injured in the metro derailment and who have been taken to three Moscow hospitals, reports RIA-Novosti.

The clergy will offer spiritual and psychological support to the victims of the accident in the capital’s metro in three Moscow hospitals, reported press secretary of the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Ministry Vasily Rulinsky to RIA-Novosti.

On Tuesday morning, between the “Park Pobedy” and “Slavyanskybulvar” stations of the Moscow metro three carriages derailed following an abrupt stop of the train. According to the latest information, 22 people were killed and 129 taken to 15 Moscow hospitals.

“The priests will try in the nearest time to visit those injured in the metro accident, taken to the hospitals 67, 71 and the Sklifosovsky institute. The commission for church and social activities at the Moscow diocesan council will be in charge of the church aid to the victims,” said V. Rulinsky.

According to him, “The priests will try to give spiritual and psychological aid to the victims, to support their relatives in the hospitals”.
