The seventh meeting of the Joint Commissions of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and of the Moscow Patriarchate meet in Moscow

On June 26, 2006, the Commissions on negotiations of the Moscow Patriarchate and of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia met at the offices of the Department of External Church Relations.

Participating in the Commission of the Moscow Patriarchate are: Archbishop Innokenty of Korsun, President of the Commission; Archbishop Evgeny of Verey, Protopriest Vladislav Tsypin, Archimandrite Tikhon (Shevkunov) and Protopriest Nikolai Balashov, Secretary.

On the Commission of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia are: Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany, President; Bishop Ambroise (Cantacuzene); Archimandrite Luke (Murianka); Protopriest Alexander Lebedeff, Secretary; and Protopriest Nikolai Artemoff.

The meeting began with a luncheon organized by the President of the DECR of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad.

The Commissions will continue their work at this, the seventh, joint meeting. Previous meetings were held on: July 22-24, 2004, in Moscow; September 14-16, 2004, in Munich; November 17-19, 2004, in Moscow; March 2-4, 2005 near Paris; July 26-28, 2005, in Moscow, and February 17-20, 2006, in Nyack.
