Orthodox Church is granted official status in Gabon

Libreville, February 9, 2016

His Eminence Panteleimon, Bishop of Brazzaville and Gabon (the Orthodox Church of Alexandria), during his pastoral trip to Libreville - the capital of Gabon – met with the Gabonese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophony and Regional Integration.

In the course of their meeting the Orthodox Church was solemnly granted official recognition in the Republic of Gabon, and the minister stressed that the state hoped for a constructive and effective cooperation, reports Romfea.

Bishop Panteleimon expressed his deep gratitude to His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria and All Africa and the President of Gabon Ali Bongo Ondimba owing to whom that it became possible to go through all the necessary legal procedures for granting official status to the Orthodox Church. The petition was submitted to the ministry by Bishop Panteleimon in 2014.

The minister also informed Bishop Panteleimon of the steps being taken so as to obtain permits for the building of the first Orthodox church in the center of the Gabonese Republic’s capital.

Greetings. I too am Orthodoxy Christian. Congratulations. Keep putting faith in Jesus Christ. Remember His words, Matthew 24:14, 15... when you catch sight of the disgusting thing causing the killings, i.e. United Nations, then begin fleeing to the mountains, i.e. the Holy Orthodoxy Christian Churches. Many times our Churches are carved into the mountains... Love and blessings, Lori ☦️
