Two antique icons, stolen from the Nilo-Stolobensky Hermitage in the town of Ostashkov in the Tver region, have been handed over to representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church in Tver, according to a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.
In March 2016, two eighteenth century icons of St. Nil of Stolobensk, one with the monastery in the background, were stolen from the monastery, reports RIA-Novosti. A criminal case of theft was opened and in December 2016 a suspect was detained by operatives of the main criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
