The Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society (IOPS) has delivered gifts and humanitarian aid to a boarding school in Damascus for children of Syrian soldiers who have perished in the war, IOPS Deputy Chairman Elena Agapova reported to RIA-Novosti.

“Representatives of the IOPS, with the participation of the ‘Kindness’ Foundation, have decided to specifically send gifts to Syrian children at the school, who are here known as ‘Children of the Fallen,’” Agapova said.

Around 1,100 pounds of humanitarian aid have been delivered from Moscow to Damascus, including children’s clothing and gifts. As Agapova noted, an IOPS delegation first visited the school in February 2014. The organization has maintained connection with the school administration since then.

“The directors of the boarding school put a lot of effort in so the children who have lost their loved ones in the war would lack nothing and would feel the warmth and care. The school is under the patronage of the president’s wife, Mrs. Asma al-Assad,” the IOPS representative noted.

The IOPS is Russia’s oldest scholarly and humanitarian non-governmental organization, originally formed in 1882 by decree of Emperor Alexander III. Its statutory task is to promote pilgrimages to the Holy Land, scholarly research about Palestine, and humanitarian cooperation with the countries of the Biblical region. The IOPS has been providing assistance to the Syrian population since March 2013, regardless of their religious affiliation.

It's great to help the Syrian children.

But still, one wonders why no help for the dwindling numbers of Christians in Gaza and other parts of the Holy Land.

Where's the humanitarian aid for those who have been undergoing a slow genocide for 70 years?
