On May 20, 2018 Metropolitan Tikhon of Pskov and Porkhov served Divine Liturgy in Sretensky Monastery before his departure to the Pskov metropolitanate. Concelebrating were the vicar bishop of Gdov Thomas, acting abbot Hieromonk John (Ludishchev), acting rector of the Sretensky Theological Seminary Hieromonk Silhouan (Nikitin), the brothers of Sretensky Monastery and clergy graduates of Sretensky Seminary, Archpriests Georgy Studenov and Seraphim Nedosekin, along with the many clergymen of the Western Vicariate of Moscow (of which Met. Tikhon was the dean when he was still a vicar bishop). The Sretensky Monastery Choir and the choir of the Sretensky Seminary sang the service. The new cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ and the New Martyrs and Confessor of Russia was barely able to hold all the faithful in the upper and low churches. At the end of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Tikhon addressed all those gathered, first of all thanking all for the labours and prayers that they have shared for nearly twenty-five years while Vladyka was the abbot of Sretensky Monastery.
