The Wonder of Diveyevo (VIDEO)

Today our Church commemorates all the saints of Diveyevo Convent—the holy women who labored in the famous convent founded by St. Seraphim of Sarov with the blessing and guidance of the Most Holy Theotokos herself. Diveyevo is known as one of the "portions of the Mother of God". This video, used with permission from its author Monk Abel (Gkiouzelis) of Attica, Greece, shows this wondrous monastery from the "angel's eye" view.

A metropolitan, a bishop, rural priests, Diveyevo nuns, a “fool-for-Christ” and her cell attendants… They suffered for Christ in different ways, but all stood firmly in their faith. And it was Diveyevo Convent that connected all of them.

When the Monastery closed, Blessed Maria Ivanovna discerned the entire fate of each sister. Each sister came to her and she told her what awaited her. Those who were sent to prison were the special, chosen ones, and she even told them the length of their terms. But to Mother Nikodima she gave twelve pieces of candy and said: "You are assigned to raise orphans." This was her blessing from Maria Ivanovna.

No one ever heard from her any complaint, moaning, or unhappiness, nor irritability nor lamentations over human unfairness. The Lord Himself glorified her among the people for her God-pleasing life, her great humility and patience. People began to notice that what she would say or warn about would come to pass, and that those with whom she stayed would receive grace from God.

The following descriptions of Diveyevo Convent before and after the Bolshevik revolution are remarkable in that they are the personal recollections of two nuns who were novices in the Convent before it was closed by the Communists.

The music makes it hard to watch— it’s the theme to Disney’s “Frozen”— Let it Go. Ugh.

Hi! Rejoice always! I was reading about Diveyevo and apparently it will be one of the few places if not the only place left unscathed by the antichrist!!! https://www.johnsanidopoulos.com/2010/10/holy-canal-of-theotokos-at-diveyevo.html?m=1
