Greece tops European list of proportion of priests to population

There are about 88 priests per 100,000 people in Greece, placing the ancient Orthodox nation at the top of the list for all of Europe.

The numbers were compiled by the site jodi.graphics, which deals with statistical surveys, drawing from a number of sources.

Greece tops the list with 87.7 priests per 100,000 people, followed by Italy with 82.8. Romania comes in third with 80.1, and Poland in fourth with 71.1.

    

Russia and Ukraine are far down the list, both with 27.9 priests per 100,000 people, and Bulgaria lags far behind with only 12 priests per every 100,000 people.
