Elder Ephraim’s funeral to be broadcast live online

Elder Ephraim (Moraitis) of Philotheou and Arizona, the last of the disciples of St. Joseph the Hesychast, reposed peacefully in the Lord late in the evening on Saturday December 7.

The beloved Elder’s funeral will be served today at St. Anthony’s Monastery in Florence, Arizona at 1:00 PM Mountain Time, 3:00 PM Eastern, and will be broadcast live online by tv4e.gr.

Thousands of pilgrims from around the world, including clergy, monastics, and laity, have already begun flocking to the monastery where Elder Ephraim spent the last two decades of his life and where he reposed, to say goodbye to their Geronda.

The Athonite elder, loved throughout the entire Orthodox world, reposed at about 10:00 PM at St. Anthony’s Arizona in Florence, Arizona, which he founded in 1995.
