A video of support for the persecuted Serbian Orthodox Church and Orthodox faithful in Montenegro with voices from around the world was published online on Tuesday, May 19.

The video, “We Won’t Give Up Our Holy Sites,” initiated by Serbian theologian Krsto Stanišić, features people from 30 countries, of various religious and nationalities, expressing their support for the persecuted and their disgust at the recent actions of the Montenegrin government.

Speaking about the video on a Serbian radio show, Stanišić said: They are honest people and they all share their admiration for the prayer processions for protecting the shrines and for the people of Montenegro.”

“People from many more than 30 countries are interested in what has been happening in Montenegro. The people have recognized the meaning of the prayer processions. The profoundness of the prayer processions have a global meaning. The message—that we won’t give up our holy sites—is a global message,” the initiator of the project continued.

And the brave, prayerful stand of the faithful in Montenegro is an example for the whole world, Stanišić believes: “Biblical scenes have been unfolding in Montenegro. The prayer processions are something truly universal in the world. It is something that Montenegro has to offer not only to Europe but to all the humanity as well!”

The messages from the various countries show that the entire world is following the events in Montenegro and sees the injustices being carried out against the Church there. The people in the video warmly express their love for the people of Montenegro and encourage them to remain strong in their faith and to always remain joyful even in the face of such evil.

Following the Divine Liturgy on May 19, His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro spoke of President Milo Đukanović’s dream of achieving autocephaly for the schismatic “Montenegrin Orthodox Church” and his plans of seizing Serbian Orthodox Church property as satanic and atheistic.
