According to a new statement from the Patriarchate of Constantinople, churches in Turkey will reopen to parishioners this coming Saturday, June 6, on the eve of the feast of Pentecost.
Churches have been closed by decision of the Holy Synod since mid-March.
Parishioners are expected to comply with the prescribed sanitary instructions, including maintaining a distance of 1.5 meters between one another, wearing masks, and using antiseptics.
The Patriarchate’s administrative services will reopen Tuesday, June 9.
