Bishop Silvester of Eastern Uganda in stable condition after serious car accident on feast of Pentecost

His Grace Bishop Silvester of Gulu and Eastern Uganda of the Patriarchate of Alexandria was involved in a serious car accident after serving Divine Liturgy for the feast of Pentecost yesterday, reports the site of the Uganda Orthodox Church.

Bp. Silvester and those with him are all in stable condition and being closely monitored by medical personnel.

His Grace was on his way to the Church of St. Nektarios outside of Gulu after celebrating the Divine Liturgy in the Church of St. Basil in Gulu.

The diocese requests that all the faithful keep Bp. Silvester in their prayers.

Bp. Silvester was elected as bishop of the newly-formed Gulu Diocese on November 26, 2018, and was enthroned on February 17, 2019.
