On June 7, His Grace Bishop Silvester of Gulu and Eastern Uganda was involved in a serious car accident after celebrating Divine Liturgy for the feast of Holy Pentecost.
Bp. Silvester and those with him were in stable condition and being closely monitored by medical personnel, the Uganda Diocese reported the next day.
On June 12, Bp. Silvester wrote on his Facebook page: “Glory to God for everything! After the accident that I and my associates had last Sunday of the Pentecost, in which the grace of the Holy Spirit protected us and we came out alive, I hereby wish from my heart to thank you all for your love and prayers. Please continue praying for our complete recovery!”
Since then, His Grace has fully recovered and is already back to his episcopal duties, the diocese told OrthoChristian today.
The diocese is grateful to all those who prayed for Bp. Silvester during his time of recovery.
Bp. Silvester was elected as bishop of the newly-formed Gulu Diocese on November 26, 2018, and was enthroned on February 17, 2019.
