Budva, August 18, 2020
While the Orthodox faithful in Montenegro held cross processions twice a week for several months at the beginning of the year in defense of the rights of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro, they have been limited for several months now due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Nevertheless, the faithful take every opportunity to express their support for their Church and its sacred sites and treasures, against the background of the law passed in December that essentially grants the state the right to confiscate Serbian Orthodox Church properties.
Thus, on August 15, a maritime cross procession was held in Montenegro, reports Pravoslavie.ru.
The procession involved more than 70 boats of various types, which at one point formed into the shape of a cross, and was attended by former mayor and current candidate for mayor of Budva, Bato Tsarevich.
