Yesterday, October 6, during a routine examination, His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro of the Serbian Orthodox Church tested positive for the coronavirus.

He was therefore sent to a clinic for treatment, reports the press service of the Montenegro Metropolis.

“The Metropolitan spent the previous days in home isolation under constant medical supervision,” the report says. “Although it was confirmed today that overall, his health is in order (without any considerable difficulties), and he himself feels well, a COVID test confirmed that Vladyka is infected with this virus, and for these reasons, he was transferred to the Clinical Center in Podgorica.”

According to doctors, his health is stable and under control, and the Metropolis calls on everyone to pray for the Metropolitan’s speedy recovery, and for all who feel ill.

In March, His Grace Bishop Milutin of Valjevo of the Serbian Church reposed in the Lord due to complications from the coronavirus.
