His Eminence Metropolitan Ignaty, the new ruling hierarch of Saratov and Volsk, has helped raised a considerable amount of money to help with the fight against the coronavirus infection, said Governor Valery Radaev of the Saratov Province.

“Metropolitan Ignaty of Saratov and Volsk has not stood aloof in the fight against the spread of the infection,” Gov. Radaev said at a meeting of the regional Coordinating Council for Countering COVID-19, report RIA-Novosti.

“With his assistance, the regional health system received funds in the amount of $644, 500 (50 million rubles)… I express my sincere gratitude to Vladyka Ignaty that his first steps as head of the Saratov Metropolia are connected with this kind of charity,” Radaev added.
