A new documentary on the Holy Mountain has been submitted to the 3rd Annual Houston Greek Film Festival, and is available to watch online.

Written and directed by Argyris Liapis, “Athos, the World’s Brightest Peak,” follows three Athonite monks who share their thoughts about faith, monasticism, their decision to become monks, their lives on Mt. Athos, the monastic community, and visitors to the Holy Mountain.

“One cannot leave everything and come here to completely devote himself to God, unless a divine power, stronger than anything human, attracts him to this place,” reflects one of the monks.

The hour-long documentary is in Greek with English subtitles.
