His Eminence Archbishop Christophoros of Kyriakoupolis of the Jerusalem Patriarchate in Jordan announced the launch of the Church’s Christian Family Home Program on Sunday while serving at the Church of St. George in the Zarqa Governorate.

The Metropolitan emphasized in his sermon during the Liturgy that the mission of the Church in these days is to gather its children under its protecting veil, always participating in the service of the Divine Liturgy, “in which the essence of our worship and faith is manifested, which is the Mystery of the Eucharist,” reports Orthodox Jordan.

Against this background, Abp. Christophoros announced the new Christian Family Home Program that specifically cares for family affairs and provides spiritual, social, and psychological counseling, and health awareness for individuals and spouses.

Following the service, Archimandrite Athanasius, the rector of the St. George Church, presented a sum of money to the program on behalf of the parish in support of its launch and in honor of its blessed efforts.

Last March, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem donated more than $70,500 to the Jordanian Ministry of Health to contribute toe the fight against the coronavirus.
