A 6-part lecture series on the spiritual life from Mother Alexandra, the last princess of Romania and the founding abbess of the Orthodox Monastery of the Transfiguration in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, was recently published on YouTube.
The lectures were delivered in October-November 1975 in Calvary Episcopal Church in Pittsburgh. The publication of the videos coincides with the 30th anniversary of the repose of Mother Alexandra, who departed to the Lord on January 21, 1991 at the age of 82.
After being exiled from her beloved Romania, Princess Ileana eventually became a nun and later founded the monastery in Pennsylvania in 1967. She spiritually led the monastery for the first 24 years of its existence.
