Icon of Theotokos streaming myrrh in Ukrainian village monastery (+VIDEO)

An icon of the Most Holy Theotokos recently began streaming myrrh in the Monastery of St. John the Theologian in the Ukrainian village of Seltso in the Transcarpathian Province.

Drops of myrrh are flowing down from both sides of the “Look Upon My Humility” icon, reports the Mukachevo Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

According to the abbot, Archimandrite Agapit, the icon was painted by a hierodeacon of the monastery.

The myrrh was first noticed on Monday, March 29, during the singing of an akathist. The miracle has been testified to by His Eminence Metropolitan Theodore of Mukachevo and Uzhgorod.

The church is in a dilapidated state, in need of serious restoration, so services were rarely held there, although services have been held daily since the miracle was observed, with news of the myrrh-streaming icon bringing increased attention to the church. An icon of St. Stephen of Piperi reportedly began weeping on January 28 in a church of the Montenegrin Metropolis of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
