The Romanian Orthodox Christian Students Association (ASCOR) of Iaşi has built another house for a needy family.

ASCOR Iaşi’s third such house, in Vlădeni commune, Iași County, was blessed on May 21, the feast of Sts. Constantine and Helen on the New Calendar, by His Grace Bishop Macarie of Northern Europe, and handed over to a widowed mother and her five young children, reports the Basilica News Agency.

His Grace thanked all those who contributed to the project, emphasizing that their reward will be in Heaven. The project materialized in just 8 months through the efforts of ASCOR Iaşi volunteers, who were supported by hundreds of other well-wishers.

ASCOR Iaşi is already working on its fourth house, being built for two young girls being raised by their grandmother.

Last week, OrthoChristian reported that the Romanian Diocese of Maramureș has committed to building several houses for families affected by the recent flooding in northern Romania.
