In addition to the assistance it has already offered the local medical community, the Pskov Metropolia of the Russian Orthodox Church plans to build a hospital at the Pskov Caves Monastery.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, His Eminence Metropolitan Tikhon of Pskov announced that, “In Pechory, we want to open a hospital—a clinical and diagnostic center at the monastery—with the help of our friends and benefactors, with the help of their funds,” reports the Synodal Department for Charity and Social Services.

The hospital will be for everyone, not just the monastics, His Eminence specified.

Additionally, mobile clinical and diagnostic centers have already been created for doctors to travel to villages and examine people who are unable to get to a hospital.

Earlier, the Pskov Diocese already gave three specialized mobile complexes to local doctors.
