Following his release from George Washington University Hospital yesterday, Patriarch Bartholomew resumed his schedule of political meetings, including with President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Joe Blinken.

Pat. Bartholomew was feeling unwell on Sunday morning and was taken to the hospital, where he stayed overnight.

He then met with Sec. Joe Blinken yesterday afternoon, accompanied by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, and senior members of the Patriarchate and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, the Archdiocese reports.

Pat. Bartholomew spoke about “the vision and ministry of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to promote inter-religious dialogue and environmental awareness,” and about the plight of Christians in the Middle East and North Africa.

He also thanked the Secretary for the U.S.’s support for the Patriarchate’s policies: “We’re grateful to the United States Government for its continued support of the Ecumenical Throne, the ideas and principles we seek to uphold, and at the same time our survival in our historic headquarters in Istanbul.”

The delegation then met with Pres. Biden in the Oval Office. According to the GOARCH press release, they discussed the climate, the COVID pandemic, and the Patriarch’s hope for the reopening of Halki Seminary in Turkey, “which was forcibly closed fifty years ago.”

Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the Patriarch praised the President as “a man of faith and man of vision,” adding that “we know that he will offer to this wonderful country and to the world, the best leadership and direction within his considerable powers.”

Pres. Biden has described himself as “a strong supporter of the Ecumenical Patriarchate … in its role as the center of the Greek Orthodox Church.”

Interestingly, the Patriarch also declared to journalists that “we cannot allow any shortsighted political agendas to interfere with our relationships that are through and in Christ Jesus the Lord and Savior of the world.

On the other hand, it is well know that the Patriarchate, in fact, cooperated with the Ukrainian and American governments to claim ecclesiastical authority over Ukraine and create a schismatic organization there in hopes of driving out the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church with its millions of Ukrainian faithful.

Pres. Biden’s support of Constantinople has included trying to pressure His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem into recognizing the Ukrainian schismatics.

The Ecumenical patriarch appears as if he's a very sick man going through chemo. His beard looks as if it's disappearing or falling out if he's getting treatment for cancer or something else. If that is the case he should step down and let a healthy person take over.

We are definitely in the last days. In the words of St Theophan the Recluse on a commentary of 2 Thessalonians “There will also be a minority that holds to the faith as it was handed down by the holy Apostles and preserved in the Orthodox Church; however, many of these will be right-believing in the name only, while their hearts will not have the foundation required by faith, for they will love this age more than Christ.” An Orthodox Patriarch cosying up to a corrupt leader is a signal of this, as is the desecration of the Holy Gifts with multiple spoons and mask wearing in out Holy Temples. Severus: “...it is the Holy Spirit who restrains and hinders the appearance of the lawless one. When, however...due to the wickedness of men, the Spirit will be gone and will depart, then the lawless one will take his place, will reveal himself and rise up, with no one hindering him.” Do we not see this now with basic human rights turned on their heads; science and medicine turned upside down; the absolute dividing of populations by a “health emergency?” 5g about to be placed on every lamp post in the land; without any consultation with the people living under it’s electromagnetic shadow? For a shadow it surely is. God help us.

Bart is the most arrogant man I have ever seen. During his 1990 USA trip after installation, I was at a large convention center and saw that he had the clergy one after the the other walk forward, bow for his blessing, and walk away BACKWARDS as though he was some Holy Altar.

Biden a "man of faith?" Is the EP senile? What an embarrassment. Now I know why I avoid the GOA like a plague. And note to EP: we're not Hellenists here in the US. We're Americans.

I would not expect the Patriarch to be rude, but such nonsense is unacceptable.

Biden a man of faith? A Roman Catholic that is almost excommunicated because he is pro abortion and pro gay etc. O Lord!

He basically is admitting his Patriarchate is a tool of US foreign policy. Lord have mercy. Really.

Probably the less publicity this gets, the better. This is an extremely poor witness of the faith and has the potential to turn many potential seekers aware from the Church. On the other hand, we have Orthodox Christians being locked out of churches and facing a pretty extreme persecution in Australia, maybe you could use this platform to make people aware of what is going on there, maybe do an interview with Bishop George of Canberra, because everyone is ignoring them.

Lord have mercy on this church and its clergy, this country and its government, and those who suffer under both.

For my whole lifetime the United States government has been actively fighting AGAINST the "ideas and principles" that the Orthodox Church upholds. I hope you enjoyed your fleeting moment of prestige, Your Holiness.

How long will the other local Churches put up with this man
