In the Romanian village of Dăeni, Tulcea County, two sisters suffering from spastic quadriplegia are struggling to raise Iulica, one of the women's daughter.

Because of their condition, the women are unable to work and thus were unable to fix the dilapidated roof on their simple home. 8-year-old Iulica and her mother and aunt have only disability payments and support from their parish to get by on.

Fr. Alexandru also works at the site alongside the workers, who are paid from donations raised in a campaign specifically for the house. The local City Hall also provided tools.

The men have also replaced the electricity and added a bathroom to the house, and they aim to finish and furnish all the rooms, including a separate bedroom specifically for Iulica.

The St. Parascheva Church in Dăeni also operates a social center for mothers and children in need of shelter, and a home for the elderly.
