The faithful of the Romanian Episcopate of the Orthodox Church in America raised thousands of dollars for relief for victims of Hurricane Ida.

The Episcopate reports:

During September and October 2021, His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel appealed to the parishes of the Episcopate to take special collections to assist those who suffered the effects of Hurricane Ida. The Episcopate received a total of $24,072.28 which was distributed to victims of the hurricane and to International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) to help those who were impacted by the storm. May God bless you for responding to the appeal with your generous donations!

Hurricane Ida was the second-most damaging hurricane to make landfall in the state of Louisiana. The Category 4 storm also caused destruction and flooding in the Caribbean and across the northeastern U.S. in August and September.
