A Kiev court officially banned officials of the Vinnitsa State Provincial Administration from illegally re-registering communities of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church to the schismatic “Orthodox Church of Ukraine.”

The local faithful learned the joyous news when they gathered in prayerful protection of their Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Snitkov against the expected raid of the schismatics, reports the Information-Education Department of the Ukrainian Church.

After praying a moleben, the local dean Archpriest Vasily Balan announced:

Today, brothers, we stood up in prayer, and a court decision was brought to us that stops the illegal re-registrations of Saletsky. Thank God that someone is working for people, for the people, for the state and shows that there are civilized people here.

Igor Saletsky, known as the “black registrar,” the head of the Vinnitsa Administration for Religious Affairs, is responsible for the illegal transfer of more than 30 communities, many of which occurred while Poroshenko was still in office.

The faithful gathered in prayer earlier on December 3 outside the Vinnitsa Administration building, to stand up for their rights and protest Saletsky’s lawlessness.

The Kiev court’s decision specifically notes that Saletsky transferred the Nativity of the Theotokos Church illegally, and also stopped the Vinnitsa administration’s decrees concerning several other Orthodox parish communities.
