Vatopedi Monastery, one of the 20 ruling monasteries on Mt. Athos, has again been awarded for the amazing quality of its products.

This time, four wines made from the monastery’s own grapes were recognized by the Olymp Awards 2022, an internationally recognized food and beverage competition.

The monastery’s chestnut honey previously took top prize at a competition in Italy last year.

In particular, the monastery won a Platinum Award for its Syrah 2016 wine, a Gold Award for its Merlot 2018, and two Silver Awards for its Syrah Grenache Rouge 2021 and Assyrtiko Athiri Sauvignon Blanc 2021 at the Olymp Awards this year, reports Romfea.

The monastery’s vineyards cover an area of 70 acres and enjoy particularly favorable environmental conditions.
