Matushka Anne, wife of Fr. Thomas Hopko, reposes in the Lord

Photo: oca.org Photo: oca.org Matushka Anne Hopko reposed in the Lord yesterday, August 4, in Quebec, Canada, where she was vacationing with family, reports the Orthodox Church in America.

Matushka was the daughter of Protopresbyter Alexander Schmemann (+1983) and wife of Protopresbyter Thomas Hopko (+2015). She was 78 years old.

She suffered a sudden massive stroke on Wednesday while on vacation, and was in palliative care in a hospital in L’Annoniciation (Rivière-Rouge), Quebec when she reposed.

Matushka Anne is survived by her children Archpriest John (Macrina), Juliana (Gregory), Catherine (Raymond), Mary (Archpriest Nicholas), and Alexandra (Joseph), and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
