The hierarchs of the Australian dioceses of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Macedonian Orthodox Church-Ohrid Archbishopric celebrated the Divine Liturgy together on Sunday.

The service was held at the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. George in Canberra and celebrated by His Grace Bishop Siluan of Australia and New Zealand (Serbian) and His Eminence Metropolitan Petar of Prespa and Pelagonia, administrator of the Macedonian Diocese of Australia and New Zealand, reports the Macedonian diocese.

The hierarchs were also joined by priests from both dioceses.

At the end of the service, Bp. Siluan presented Met. Petar with a hand cross.

The Macedonian Orthodox Diocese of Australia and New Zealand consists of 14 churches and three monasteries.

The Macedonian Church received a tomos of autocephaly from the Serbian Church in June which recognized it in its entirety, including its diaspora dioceses in Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand.
