The Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America will gather early next year to nominate candidates for its next Metropolitan.

The Archdiocese announced yesterday:

The Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America announces a Special Convention on Jan. 13, 2023 to nominate candidates for its next Metropolitan-Archbishop. The convention will be held at the Hyatt Regency Dallas-DFW International Airport (American Airlines, Terminal C).

Only clergy, delegates and those authorized by the Archdiocese should register. Nomination instructions, as well as ballot and additional information, will be forthcoming from the Archdiocese Headquarters.

See the Archdiocesan site for information about registering.

For now, the Archdiocese is being administrated by Patriarchal Vicar Metropolitan Antonios of Zahle, Baalbek, and Dependencies, who arrived in America last month, after the September resignation of Metropolitan Joseph, who led the Archdiocese for 8 years.

Met. Antonios is tasked with managing the Archdiocese’s affairs until a new Metropolitan is elected and overseeing the process of nominating a new Metropolitan.

If you are a clergy/delegate please vote for a Metropolitan who will have the fortitude to stand up against the Greek Archbishop on the Assembly.
