“Christ is Risen!” Ukrainian faithful sing out in face of persecution (+VIDEOS)

Despite the trying times, with the ongoing war and the increasing persecution from the state, the people of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church remain firm in their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Church recently learned that as of January 1, the state will no longer allow access to the Holy Dormition Cathedral and the trapeza Church of Sts. Anthony and Theodosius in the upper section of the Kiev Caves Lavra, which is still under state control, as it was in the Soviet Union.

On New Years’ Eve, the faithful filled the trapeza church to overflowing, to worship in their beloved church for the last time for the time being.

And as always happens, persecution only makes the Church stronger. During the service, the people began to sing the Paschal troparion of “Christ is Risen!” proclaiming their faith in the face of persecution:

Christ's ONE AND ONLY CANONICAL CHURCH will survive ANY AND ALL persecutions until CHRIST comes again in glory to judge all of humanity !!!
