Having expelled the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the churches upper section of the state-owned Kiev Caves Lavra, the authorities are now moving ahead with plans to kick the Church and its Ukrainian faithful out of the Pochaev Lavra as well.

The two lavras are the holiest sites in Ukraine.

A working group of the Ternopil Provincial Council held its first meeting on the legality of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s use of the also-state-owned Holy Dormition-Pochaev Lavra yesterday.

The group openly admits that its purpose is simply to find a reason to kick out the Ukrainian Church, which it intentionally mischaracterizes as the Moscow Patriarchate.

TV-4 reported on the meeting. Its description of its video reads:

To overthrow the Moscow Patriarchate in the Ternopil region. The first meeting of the working group on the legality of the use of the buildings of the Holy Dormition-Pochaev Lavra in Kremenets by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate was held. The purpose of the commission is to find legitimate reasons for terminating the lease agreement for the premises of the Lavra with the enemy church and return them to the use of the Ukrainian church.

“The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine will then determine which Ukrainian church to transfer it to,” said Council head Mikhail Golovko.

Both the schismatic “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” and the Uniate Ukrainian Greek Catholic church, which occupied the Lavra for a time in the 18th-19th centuries, openly long to take possession of the Lavra.

Desolate people turn their environment also desolate. Only time will show what will happen to the two holy sites, if they fall into the hands of that deceived russian-hating mob.
