New York, February 17, 2023
St. John the Forerunner Orthodox Pro-Life Society will hold a prayer service in New York City tomorrow, February 18.
A moleben for an end to abortion will be served in the street in front of an abortuary by His Eminence Archbishop Michael of New York and New Jersey of the Orthodox Church in America.
In the coming season of Great Lent, the Society calls on everyone to do everything in their power to save the lives of the unborn. Those who live in New York City area can also plan to join the street prayer service on March 25, which will be led by Abbot Zosimas (Krampis) of the Russian Church Abroad.
To participate please contact the Pro-Life Society at 917-428-3560 or by email.
St. John the Forerunner Pro-Life Society also calls on Orthodox Christians outside New York City to start their activity locally and join the national Orthodox Christians Pro-Life movement. Fill out this form to get started.
In his sermons, Abp. Michael often reminds that we need to help expectant mothers and show them our love and support. To this end, Orthodox Christians Pro-Life focuses on charitable activities together with street evangelizing and education.
Over the past year, the organization has supported an Orthodox pregnancy resource center, paid for pro-life advertising in various publications, helped an Orthodox couple adopt a child, donated to help Ukrainian refugees, helped a high-risk pregnant woman, and much more.
