Memorial services will be held in all Greek churches for victims of train accident

The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece has ruled that a panikhida is to be served in all churches of the Church of Greece this coming Sunday, March 5, for the victims of the recent train accident in Tempi.

Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and the members of the Permanent Holy Synod will celebrate a memorial in the Cathedral of the Annunciation in Athens, reports Romfea.

At least 57 died and dozens more were injured when a passenger train collided with a freight train in central Greece on the last day of February.

As OrthoChristian reported on Wednesday, several Orthodox primates have expressed their condolences, and many other primates and bishops have expressed their condolences since.
