The hierarch reposed at midnight on Saturday, May 13, at the age of 85, the Patriarchate reports.
He served the Church as a hierarch for 47 years.
His funeral was served at the monastic Church of Sts. Constantine and Helen of the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre by His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem.

Met. Cornelius (Rodousakis) was born in 1936 in Margarikario of Heraclion, Crete. He arrived in Jerusalem in 1951.
He graduated from the Patriarchal School and was tonsured a monk in 1958. In 1959 he was ordained a deacon. He is a graduate of the Theological School of Chalki. He was ordained priest in 1964 and was elevated to the rank of archimandrite in 1965. In 1967 he was sent to the Geneva Ecumenical Institute for further studies and in 1972 he was appointed a member of the Holy and Sacred Synod.
He served as chief sacristan, teacher, and principal of the Patriarchal School and also as chief editor and director of the Journal “New Sion” and President of Education.
In October 1976 he was elected and consecrated Archbishop of Sebastia. In 1978 he was appointed Patriarchal Commissioner in Bethlehem. In 1981 he was appointed Chairman of the School Board.
In 1991 he was elevated to the rank of Metropolitan. He was appointed President of the Ecclesiastic Court in Jerusalem. In 2000 he was appointed President of Economic Affairs.
He served as Locum Tenens of the Throne. In 2001 he was appointed Patriarchal Commissioner. As a representative of the Patriarchate, he took part in various conferences and missions.
He again served as Locum Tenens of the Throne in 2005.
