On Sunday, May 28, hierarchs of the Orthodox Church in America and the Moscow Patriarchate concelebrated in Canada.

His Eminence Archbishop Irénée of Ottawa and Canada (OCA) was joined by His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, the Temporary Administrator of the Moscow Patriarchal Parishes in the US and Canada, at the Church of St. Gregory of Nyssa in Kingston, Ontario, reports the Diocese of Sourozh.

Following the service, Bp. Matthew thanked Abp. Irénée for the opportunity to concelebrate and presented him with an episcopal Panagia.

St. Gregory of Nyssa Orthodox Church was founded in 1981. It began as a mission to Queens University students in a family home. It later met in a chapel at the university, then became a house-church, then moved to a strip mall storefront. The parish then began renting the basement of an Anglican church in Heritage Cemetery at Cataraqui, and later moved into the red brick building across from the Anglican church.
