The annual March for Life was held in Bucharest on Saturday, March 30.

The event, organized by Students for Life Bucharest and Romania for Life, gathered 3,000 participants, mostly young people, “who came to convey to society that we need children and that women need our support to give birth,” reports the Basilica News Agency.

The event concluded with a pro-life themed concert.

This year’s theme, “Building Together for Life,” was inspired by the story of Alexandra Ivanov, a 25-year-old mother of three from Botoșani, who was not provided with the necessary medical care after a miscarriage and tragically died.

Various testimonies were given throughout the day, including from Monica Lia, a mother of three, including one child with Down Syndrome. She shared:

A child with disabilities is not a burden, but a joy. A joy because, through him, we discover our soul and unimaginable strength.

Yes, looking from the outside, it’s hard; it’s very hard and seems frightening, but these children talk, communicate, love with all their little hearts, and they come with a mission to the world: our salvation, those around us, because they save not just families, but entire groups of people.

Perhaps that’s why there is also a great battle by the evil one for their early diagnosis in intrauterine life and abortion, taking their lives from there. I went through these pressures. I thank the Good Lord that I came out victorious.

Accept these children! It’s a miracle hard to explain. Although in many difficulties, we smile and are happy, with a joy that we can’t explain.

The March for Life crowned the annual Month for Life. This year marked the 14th celebration of the month in Romania, and the 10th in Moldova. Activities were held in 1,500 localities between the two countries, involving about 200,000 people.
