Later this month, player for the Chicago Bulls and Serbian Orthodox Christian Nikola Vučević will give a talk for the youth and community of a Serbian church in Chicago.
“Nikola will share insights into how the Orthodox faith has shaped his personal and professional life, offering a unique perspective on balancing the demands of a high-level sports career with spiritual growth. This inspiring event is a wonderful opportunity to learn from an accomplished athlete who remains deeply connected to his faith,” reports the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of New Gračanica and Midwestern America.
The event will be held on Sunday, September 22 at 1:00 PM at St. Stevan of Dečani Serbian Orthodox Church, 3543 Leland Ave. in Chicago.
Vučević played college basketball for USC before being drafted 16th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2011. After his rookie season, he was traded to the Orlando Magic. He spent nine seasons with the Magic, becoming a two-time NBA All-Star. In the middle of the 2020–21 season, he was traded to the Chicago Bulls.
Vučević is known to make generous donations to Church-run social ministries.
