Hot Springs, Arkansas, October 29, 2024
Sunday, October 29, was an especially joyous day at the Serbian Orthodox Church-Parish in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
That day, in addition to the Divine Liturgy, eight people were united to Christ in Holy Baptism and Chrismation. The Sacrament was celebrated by Fr. Tomislav Savić, who reported the joyous news to OrthoChristian.
“What a truly blessed day today as I had the honor of baptizing eight wonderful catechumens into the Orthodox faith: Michael, Herman, Elizabeth, Katherine, Sophie, Anne, Joseph, and Maria,” writes Fr. Tomislav, who has served the parish since the beginning of this year.
“As a young priest, this moment is great blessing for me and fills my heart with gratitude. I thank the Lord for bringing these good people to the Orthodox Church, guiding them to find meaning and purpose of their lives in the Orthodox faith. May God bless, protect, and guide them on their journey, walking alongside them every day of their lives,” Father continues.
The Serbian parish in Hot Springs has two churches: the Archangel Michael Church, built in 1979, and the St. George Church, built in 1992.
