The wonderworking Hawaiian Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, which is currently visiting parishes throughout Western Europe, was festively greeted by the local Antiochian hierarch and faithful in Lincoln, England on Wednesday.

The icon was delivered by its guardian, Fr. Nectary Yangson, to the Antiochian Orthodox Church of All Saints of Lincolnshire, where it was greeted by His Eminence Metropolitan Silouan of the British Isles and Ireland, parish and visiting clergy, and more than 200 from Antiochian Orthodox communities in North England, reports the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia’s Diocese of Great Britain and Western Europe.

A moleben with an akathist was chanted before the icon.

After the service, Fr. Nectary spoke about the history and miracles associated with the icon. The Hawaiian Iveron Icon remained with the parish for Divine Liturgy yesterday, celebrated by Met. Silouan.

The wonderworking icon began its visit to Western Europe on November 1 with a festive procession in Geneva involving hierarchs, clergy, and Orthodox faithful. It was venerated by hundreds of Serbian faithful in Birmingham, England, earlier this week.
